Established in 2006, the Cartoon and Animation Department of Kütahya Dumlupınar University offers students not only professional skills but also an environment where they can freely express their creativity in this magical world where art and technology meet. The main goal of our department is to equip our students, who are stepping into the fascinating world of animation, with technical knowledge and artistic vision, and to train them as strong professionals in the national and international arena. Today, our students and graduates are frequently mentioned in the animation world for their contributions to the sector.

As the Cartoon and Animation Department, our annual Cartoon and Animation Festival provides an important platform for showcasing artistic production and the creative works of our students. This festival has reinforced not only our department's but also Kütahya Dumlupınar University's strong identity in the field of art. Our students showcase their animation projects at the festival, offering viewers a captivating experience from both an artistic and technical perspective. This event also helps our students take their first steps into the professional world with the participation of experts from the industry.

The Cartoon and Animation Department has made a name for itself in the animation world with its national and international achievements. The short animated films produced by our students have won awards at many national and international film festivals and reached a wide audience. Especially in recent years, the awards and screenings our students have won at international festivals are a great source of pride for us. These festivals, where film and animation are recognized as a cultural language, allow our students to open up to the world. Participating in such festivals provides our students with significant experience, both artistically and professionally, and prepares them for the industry.

Our department's motto encourages going beyond focusing solely on technical knowledge and skills and freely expressing art: “Animator! First, entertain yourself!” This statement emphasizes that animation is not a job, but a passion. It allows our students to use their creativity without limits, express themselves, and have fun throughout the process. Inspired by this motto, animation is treated not just as a job, but as a fun and free form of expression. With our "Animator!" approach, we respect and encourage the artist within each student. Because we believe that the most successful and original works emerge from a fun and free mind.

Our department's graduates have achieved significant success in the animation and film industry, participating in numerous prestigious projects both nationally and internationally. Our graduates pursue careers in animation studios, game companies, advertising agencies, and film production companies. Some hold important positions such as animation director, visual effects specialist, 3D modeling artist, and character designer, making a difference in the industry. Our department has become known for producing high-quality graduates for the industry, and the successes of our graduates are a result of our strong educational infrastructure and artistic vision.
